Queen Elizabeth the IInd has made famous pianist Radu Lupu a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
The Romanian is one of the most acclaimed pianists worldwide and received the precious collar for "Services to Music", The Guardian reports.
The Queen is the one to bestow such honourary titles but the recipients are picked by committees made up of civil servants, who choose among several nominees put forth by the government and the public at large.
