Schools get fire safety "permission" from parents

Christmas has been stolen from schools and not by the Grinch. The School Inspectorate with its new rules is the culprit.

The reason is that only 50 out of the 400 schools in Bucharest were issued a fire safety permit.

Some schools, however, have found the "solution". They asked for the parents' written consent holding the Christmas party.

For this Christmas celebration to take place, parents had to give their written consent.

Parents never imagined that a school party might be a reason to worry about the children's safety, but the School Inspectorate thought otherwise.

However, having received no fire safety and prevention guidelines, kindergarten and school principals made whatever decisions they deemed right.

It may be a bad joke, but some parents will watch their children's party on a VCD or they will see no such celebration at all.

Candles and fireworks are also banned at children's parties. The rule was introduced in the wake of the Collective Club tragedy, after one has uncovered that only 17 hundred schools were given fire safety permits.  17 hundred out of more than 19 thousand schools in Romania.
