Gabriela Firea, the general mayor, analyzed this afternoon the weather situation in Bucharest together with Adrian Petcu, the prefect of the capital, ANM representatives, and the general inspector of Bucharest School District, Ionel Florian Lixandru. After carefully condisering all factors, they decited that due to strong winds and snow, the schools and kindergardens in Bucharest will close on Friday, March 23.
Gabriela Firea declared: ”After discussing the situation with ANM representative, who warned us that the weather will get worst, and the snow will continue all week, with very strong wind intensifications on Friday, we decited that for the safety of our kids, schools will close on Friday, March 23. This is a responsible decision, that I myself assume as the general mayor, as I wish not to expose our kids to extreme meteorological conditions.”
ANM has issued a warning of frost and snow storms, valid until thursday morning at 10 AM.
There will be temperature 10 degrees lower than usual, and will continue to snow.
