"The Romanian seaside will be deserted". A nightmare scenario for the Romanians. If the shale gas explorations in the Black Sea begin
The controversy of shale gas exploration continues in Romania. Without enough information from the authorities and no public debates on the matter, the tourists from the seaside say the beaches will be deserted if they start exploring in the Black sea.

The official is trying to calm down those dissatisfied with the decision and says that the shale gas explorations could only begin in a five year’s time, if it s approved.

Many tourists who come to the seaside fear that the shale gas exploration could destroy the Romanian seaside.

Non-governmental organizations promise that they will protest to keep from explorations the two of the best loved beaches on the seaside : Vama Veche and Costineşti

On the other hand, the Ministry of Economy Varujan Vosganian stated that the explorations of the Americans from Chevron would not affect the environment. Moreover, technology could register some advances, which would make disappear completely the risk of pollution after exploitation.

The Executive argues that the shale gas could help Romania give up the Russian imports. Early this month, the authorities have given the environment consent for the Chevron company to start shale gas explorations in Dobrogea.
