The fight of Romanian-Canadian Lucian Bute versus Gambian-born Swede Badou Jack ended in a majority draw (114-114, 114-114, 111-117) on Saturday night in Washington. Jack thus retained his super-middleweight WBC title.
Jack and his promoter, former world champion Floyd Mayweather, criticized the decision. The 32 years old Swede should fight later this year UK's James DeGale for the unified WBC and IBF super-middleweight titles.
Bute is the former IBF world champion from 2007 to 2012, a title he has defended nine times; he is now 36.
