A song album based on the lyrics of poet Mihai Eminescu, chanted in church style, performed by in Byzantine choir mode, can be listened based on an application for iPhone and iPad , Mediafax reports.
The album titled "Tribute. Mihai Eminescu", prepared to mark 163 years since the birth of the poet, contains songs sung by the group " Brevis Quartet ", which includes four priests from the Arges Monastery.
The album contains eleven poems written by Mihai Eminescu and can be listened on a less used device, due to an application for iPhone and iPad, made for the „Curtea de Argeş Monastery ” project.
"We live in a world of speed. People do not have time for the little joys of the soul. The Church’s duty is to preach the Word of God, by whatever means. Therefore we need not consider technology a barrier, but a tool we can make use of, " archdeacon Caliope Ichim said.
"Mihai Eminescu is more than a great poet, he is a national symbol and our cultural emblem. The Church has the moral duty to be, not only a place of worship but also a lace for culture. That’s why we have tried to combine the two elements, the psalms music and the poet’s grace, through his lyrics, " archdeacon Caliope Ichim added.
