Before the publication of the reform plan designed by Downing Street, the British Government made the first connection between membership in the European Union and national security, a sign that Prime Minister Cameron wants his country to remain within the borders of the EU., EU Chronicle reports.

The UK objectives were not formally expressed until Tuesday, but they can be identified from the analysis of messages and statements sent by London in recent months:
Sovereignty. Increased powers granted to national parliaments, which can block European legislation. UK demands a system of censorship that would allow Member States to amend or reject European directives considered unsuitable. Theoretically, this mechanism should be approved by all member states, not imposed by Britain.
Eurozone and the rest.

Implicit recognition of the fact that the euro is the only currency of the EU, a move that would ensure the countries which are not part of the monetary union that they are not disadvantaged. Britain wants the states that are not part of the euro area to be protected from the possible effects of a fiscal union and receive assurances that it will not contribute to future bailouts sites.
Integration.

Britain wants not to be compelled to participate in the efforts to build a closer union, which in future could lead to the formation of a political Union.
Social benefits.

Restricting access to social benefits by migrants. Specifically, Britain wants to block those requests from newcomers in the Kingdom, enabling them to have access to social benefits only after 4 years of residence.
