More than 5,000 refugees have crossed the frontier between Serbia and Hungary over the past couple of days. They have set a new transgression record.
Many of them are trying to cross Hungary by foot whereas others are waiting for trains to take them to Germany.
Austria has suspended all rail links with Hungary because of this huge number of refugees.
One also fears that Islamic State terrorists have infiltrated the large groups of asylum-seekers.
Thousands of immigrants cross the Serbian border to Hungary every day. They are braving the rain and cold weather in an effort to reach Germany.
Budapest is going to deploy military at its southern frontier to assist the local border guards. Hungarian authorities have also started to erect a new barrier at the frontier with Serbia, besides the infamous Wall now almost complete.
Many problems have been reported by Austria, where auhtorities had to suspend all rail links to Hungary because of the growing number of immigrants.
Macedonia has taken after Hungary and is keen on building a fence. Faced with an ever larger inflow of refugees reaching Europe, the Czech Prime Minister has warned against possible terrorists infiltrated among refugees.
According to the Red Cross, another 42 thousand refugees might arrive in Hungary over the next couple of days, coming from Greece, Macedonia and Serbia.
