Four Romanian police officers in the  EUPOL Afghanistan mission received Wednesday in Kabul,  the service medal, Ministry of Interior informs.

The Romanian policemen were congratulated by  the Head of EUPOL Afghanistan  for their 'contribution to the achievement of the mission and active involvement in the efforts initiated by the European Union for  international security. "

In the same ceremony, several EUPOL members, including a Romanian police officer, received diplomas of appreciation from District 9 Police chief in Kabul, colonel Najibullah Samsoe for "good cooperation on internal security"  the MIA  adds.

The European Union Police Mission in Afghanistan (EUPOL) was inaugurated on June 17,  2007 and aims to support the Government of Afghanistan, the creation and consolidation of a police force able to contribute to peace, security and safety.

Currently,  there are 18 Romanian police officer in the theater of operations in Afghanistan, Mediafax reports.
