President Klaus Iohannis conveyed to his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a message of condolence in which he strongly condemns the terrorist attack which took place on Sunday in Ankara and stated that Romania remains committed to the fight against terrorism.

 "I received with sadness the news of the attack that took place in Ankara in the evening of March 13, 2016. I assure you that Romania is by your side and by the Turkish people in these difficult times and I want to convey to my deepest condolences to the families of those who have been killed along our full support for the Turkish authorities, "read the president’s message according to Agerpres.

He stressed that Romania "strongly condemns this new attack resulted in numerous innocent victims and remains committed to fight alongside Turkey and the international community against terrorism."

At least 37 people were killed and over a hundred injured Sunday night in a car bomb attack in the center of Ankara.
