Foreign tourists who choose to spend their holidays in Spain are advised to pay attention to personal belongings after the Iberian police arrested nine Romanians accused of theft on the Murcia and Alicante airports, the Daily Mail reports, according to Mediafax.

Late last month, Spanish police arrested nine people, eight men and one woman, all of whom are charged with pickpocketing and having stolen baggage from the airports of Murcia and Alicante.

The group, whose members are aged between 22 and 42 years, stole mainly from foreign tourists and their preferred victims were women.

The thefts were committed in the airport, but some tourists were followed at their hotels where they were robbed, according to Murcia Today, which confirmed that the new thieves were Romanian citizens.
