A parliamentary delegation composed of members of the Committee of the Romanian communities abroad intends to make a visit to Norway in the period January 18 to 22 to discuss the case of the Bodnariu family, the committee’s deputy said, Liberal MP Mircea Dolha.

"We will talk very clearly, including about the investigation that was done, I understood that there was a social survey on this family and children. We want to learn more about the unknown situations, unfortunately none of us know the truth until we get there. (...) I asked to be provided with the social investigation report that was done because the children were taken based on the investigation, "said Wednesday, Mircea Dolha for MEDIAFAX.

Dolha said that the committee members are trying to establish meetings with their counterparts in the Norwegian Parliament, members of the Government and representatives of the Norwegian Child Protection (Barnevernet) but Commissioners are still awaiting confirmation of the meetings.

"It is still not one hundred percent ( going to Norway ) until we have confirmation from the Embassy (Romanian embassy in Norway ) and from the Parliament of Norway, but somewhere between January 18 to 22, over two to three days. (...) the Romanian Embassy has sent all our claims to our counterparts in the Norwegian Parliament and the Ministry of Social Protection and Family and the Norwegian Government, " Dolha said.

Foreign Affairs Ministry stated related to the Bodnariu family, that they make the focus of the Ministry and the Romanian Embassy in Oslo and that political and diplomatic interventions have already been undertaken. According to MFA, the Romanian diplomatic mission in Oslo is in permanent contact with the family, which has provided a list of contact details of several lawyers and translators, and scored in the Romanian civil status registers the birth certificates of five children who also have Norwegian citizenship.

MFA announced that at bilateral level, there is no legal instruments to allow judicial cooperation on such a case. Also, in legal terms the prerequisites to qualify five children in the category of unaccompanied minors are not met in order to request their return in these conditions.

The family currently benefits from the assistance of a lawyer, which is directly in front of the local courts and the competent Norwegian authorities in child protection.

The children belonging to the family of Romanian Marius Bodnariu, IT engineer, and his Norwegian wife Ruth, nurse, were taken from their parents by the Children Socila Protection from Norway, Barnevernet, in November after the two girls, the eldest said physical correction was applied in their case from their parents. Also, the parents are suspected of religious indoctrination of children.

The five children were placed in three surrogate families, and recently submitted to international adoption procedure, according to family representatives .
