Protest in front of the White House, during Ponta’s official visit, to manifest against Rosia Montana and shale gas explorations. Ponta: It is very normal and democratic

A group of people displayed banners in front of the White House protesting against the Rosia Montana Project and the exploration of shale gas and they accuse Prime Minister Victor Ponta of treason. The action was undertaken when Ponta had meeting with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.

Their banners displayed messages in Romanian and English, "Ponta traitor", "Save Rosia Montana" , "United to save Rosia Montana", "United to save the Apuseni Mountains, "" Stop the exploitation of shale gas”, Mediafax reports.

Premier Victor Ponta stated that this protest is a very normal and democratic action.

"I get there were three ladies protesting. It is very normal and democratic", Ponta said for a TV station.    

The protesters said they are from Alba county and are currently living in the U.S. city of Pittsburgh, but they wanted to come to the White House on purpose, knowing that Premier Ponta will be there so they could protest against the Rosia Montana Project and shale gas exploration .
