The Social Democrats Group in the European Parliament will ask for Elmar Brok's resignation because of the statements made related to  fingerprinting Romanian immigrants.

PSD spokesman Catalin Ivan, says that the European group he belongs to  will require an official position from  the European People’s Party.

Elmar Brok wants that Romanian immigrants should be fingerprinted. He argues that the people coming to Germany with the purpose of claiming social support must be urgently sent back to their country of origin.

The fingerprinting would help authorities detect those coming back to Germany after expulsion.
