Only Russia and Turkey exceed us in the human rights violations chapter. According to a report, Romania is 3rd in the number of convictions by the European Court of Human Rights.
The main reasons for which the Court in Strasbourg condemned Romania are: the crowded prisons and the long duration of law suits. For the suits lost last year, the state must pay 7 million euros.
