Justice Minister Robert Cazanciuc, and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Khalid Bin Mohammed Al Attiyah signed Wednesday an agreement on legal cooperation between the Ministries of Justice of Romania and Qatar, the parties aiming to achieve a better exchange of information and best practices.

The Romanian Justice Minister underlined that this first bilateral instrument reaffirms the desire of the two parties to strengthen cooperation in the legal field and the prospect of identifying the best means and mechanisms to address legal issues of common interest.

"It's a general cooperation agreement between Romania and Qatar. Basically, we are setting the grounds for an institutionalized relationship. We have good relations with Qatar. (...) Cooperation, in fact we have had a very good cooperation for a while, we are trying to establish one at institutional level. Basically, we are going to set up a committee to review areas of cooperation especially in civil matter, the criminal matter is already underway, "said Minister Robert Cazanciuc after signing the agreement at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, according to Mediafax.

Through this agreement, the parties aim to achieve a more effective exchange of legal information, experience and best practices between experts of the two countries by organizing documentation visits, seminars and conferences, and by establishing partnerships under a joint committee consisting of representatives of the two ministries, according to the Ministry of Justice.
