Seven European prime ministers support the PSD-PC UNPR candidate Victor Ponta in the presidential race. Their messages of support were broadcast Thursday during the Daily Summary show on Antena 3.

Matteo Renzi, Prime Minister of Italy and President of the European Council, was present Thursday on the set of the  "Daily Summary" show , where he stated his  support for  Victor Ponta, the  candidate for president of Romania.

Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leancă, joined the supporters of Victor Ponta, the UNPR PSD-PC alliance candidate for the Romanian Presidency and our Head of Government said Thursday on the Daily Summary that he felt honored by this gesture.
Leancă  argued that his support for  Ponta was not based only on friendship but also on pragmatism.

"This relationship has begun a long time ago, about a year and four months after  I became Prime Minister. (...) I support him out of  friendship, but also out of pragmatism. The relationship between Chisinau and Bucharest cannot be determined only by political affinity", Prime Minister Leanca said on Thursday during an intervention on the  Daily summary show, on Antena 3.
Leancă said he had a "quantitative and qualitative" relationship with  Ponta, our Prime Minister has shown that  a friend in need is a friend indeed "sure that makes me trust him and support him."


In response, Ponta thanked him for his support. 

"I am very honored by your support, we are proud of our origins. My friendship with Iurie was related to the fact that he said that Moldovan citizens who have suffered want to Be EUropeans.


 

 





 

One of the happiest memories of my life as premier was when I went with him (Leanca – editor’s note) to Brussels, we were received  by the  European Commission President back then, Jose Manuel Barroso, and he joined us in a press conference and said that Moldovan citizens will go to Europe without a visa, " Victor Ponta recalled Thursday on the Daily Summary.




Also Ponta added, another dream of his is that, in 2019, the Republic of Moldova should become an  EU member.


"The most important thing for Romania is Moldova" Ponta concluded.
