Sixteen Romanians immigrants, Rroma ethnics, suspected of picking pockets were arrested in Rome, according to the Italian authorities. Italian authorities raided Monday the tourist areas in the Italian capital, according to the websiteRomaToday.it.

During the stake out missions, 18 people were arrested who committed thefts in the public transportation means targeting mainly foreign tourists.

Out of the 18 people arrested, 16 are Romanian citizens - five females and 11 males. The other two suspects are North Africans.

The 16 Romanians arrested have criminal records and live in a Rroma camp in the Castel Romano area. The Romanians were acting jointly in the public transportation means that passed through the sightseeing area downtown the Italian Capital.
