The Romanian Embassy in London took action on the initiative of Channel 4 TV station to broadcast from 17 February 2015, the documentary in three episodes entitled "Romanians are coming".

Following publication by the Channel 4television station of a summary presentation of the documentary, the Ambassador of Romania, dr. Ion Jinga, sent a letter to the producer of the show, Katie Buchanan, expressing his surprise and disappointment at the promotional message content and also his hope that the situation will be corrected, that the documentary will take an objective perspective and will not present a distorted picture of the whole Romanian community in the UK.

"About the first episode of the documentary, the Romanian Embassy in London is unable to comment on the opinions and life experiences presented, given that both the narrator and the characters in the documentary are Romanian citizens who tell the stories of their lives, often sad and emotional "the MAE release reads.

The Embassy of Romania considers, however, that this first episode is not representative of the Romanian community in the UK, given that it illustrates just a small social segment number. The vast majority of Romanian citizens are well integrated into the British society and excel at the workplace by their professionalism , being appreciated by their British employers. (...)In the context of this documentary broadcast, we hope that the next episode will present in a balanced and representative manner, the real picture of the entire Romanian community in the UK, " the statement reads.

The first episode of the documentary "The Romanians are coming" - aired Tuesday night on the British TV station Channel 4 - presents the cases of three Romanian arrived in the UK. The three cases are presented from the perspectives of actors beyond the print media on immigration.
The narrator of the first episode of the documentary series is a Romanian of Roma origin, Alex Fechete Petru, who tells the story of the 20,000 Romanians who arrived in Britain last year, most of which contribute to the prosperity of the British economy.
