The United States of America might soon have an ambassador post in Romania.


Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate has scheduled, on July 21 the interviewing of Hans G. Klemm, nominated by President Obama as ambassador to Bucharest, jurnalul.ro. reports.
There are high chances that the senators would endorse the proposition of Klemm , because he is a diplomat.
President Barack Obama nominated on March 24, Hans G. Klemm as ambassador to Romania, according to a White House statement.

Hans G. Klemm, a career diplomat, is adviser to the undersecretary for management in the State Department, a position he has held since January 2015.

Between 2012-2015, he was principal assistant secretary in the department’s Bureau of Human Resources, and before that he served as coordinator for the Rule of Law and Respect for Law at the embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan (2010-2012) .

Klemm was US ambassador in East Timor from 2007 to 2010, and second-class officer for Economic Affairs at the American Embassy in Tokyo in 2006-2007. From 2004 to 2006 he was deputy director of the Career Development Office in the Office of Human Resources.
Between 2000 and 2001, Klemm was deputy director of the Office of the EU and Regional Affairs in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.

Klemm also held positions in Germany, Japan, South Korea and Trinidad and Tobago, and within the Department of State.
He is a graduate of the University of Indiana and has a master's degree from Stanford University.
