Traian Băsescu said at the Summer University held in Izvoru Mures, that Hungary exceeded some limits " by public statements related to the so-called oppressed Hungarians minority in Romania," but they forget that the Romanians in Harghita, Covasna and Mures "do not have as many rights as the Hungarian minority ", Mediafax informs.
Former President Traian Basescu arrived Tuesday around 11.00, at Izvoru Mures, Harghita county, to attend the XIII edition of the Summer University "Romania and Romanians at the border of EU and NATO", which began Monday.

He said that countries such as Ukraine, Serbia or Hungary lose credibility in relation to Romania by not granting rights to the Romanian minorities.

"There are some realities around us that make us position the policy concerning minorities around the border among the foreign policy priorities. There must be two partners who understand and I think all these countries, be it Ukraine, Serbia , Hungary lose credibility in relations to Romania by not granting right to the Romanian minorities, " Basescu said.
The former head of state also said that Hungary exceeded some limits " by public statements related to the so-called oppressed Hungarian minority in Romania".

"I think Hungary has exceeded its limits in its political interventionism by public statements related to the so-called oppressed Hungarian minority in Romania, but do fail to see that the Romanians in Harghita, Covasna and Mures do not have the rights and financial resources that ethnic Hungarians have, given by the Government of Romania, "said Basescu.
