Montenegrin authorities extradited to the United States two Romanian citizens and an Italian accused of trying to sell weapons to the FARC terrorist group, Unione Sarda newspaper website inform, taken by Agerpres.
Romanians Cristian Vintilă (aged 44 years) and Virgil Flavius Georgescu (42 years), along with former Italian MP Massimo Romagnoli (43) - who were in remand in Montenegro since December 2014 – were extradited Wednesday morning to the United States.


The three suspects - arrested on December 16, 2014, in Podgorica, in an operation carried out by the Montenegrin authorities in collaboration with American agents – consider themselves innocent.
Cristian Vintilă, Virgil Flavius Georgescu and Massimo Romagnoli are charged with conspiracy to selling large quantities of weapons to the terrorist organization the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

According to the indictment, between May and October 2014, the three defendants conspired to sale of weapons, including machine guns and anti-aircraft guns, knowing that the weapons were to reach the FARC and be used against American citizens.

The three were caught red-handed while selling weapons to the US Drug Agency (DEA) agents. The suspects were indicted for terrorism in the United States..
