Prime Minister Victor Ponta discussed in Washington with the representatives of large US companies. The Prime Minister participated in a roundtable organized by the American-Romanian Business Council. American companies already present in Romania have requested support from the Government on certain issues.
American-Romanian Business Council members will participate in May, in the economic mission to be held in Romania by the US Department of Commerce.
Victor Ponta, currently in Washington, granted an interview to Mihai Gâdea, on the Thursday night edition of the Daily Summary show.

- I have urged the Americans to invest in Romania
- In May, there will be a delegation of the Department of Commerce arriving to Bucharest, along with a large number of American businessmen and companies
- I hope we succeed in this area of economic cooperation
About the peace agreement in Minsk:
- Nobody has the illusion that what has been signed today grantees 100 % that the problems in the region have been solved
- We have seen enough agreements and afterwards things changed
On Romania’s relation to the US:
-The US know where Romania is and they count on us
-Americans see us as their most trusted partner in the region
- I am worried about the political developments in Moldova
About the rumor of beginning conscriptions:
- There is no Government approach to begin conscriptions. I would have known about it, even if I am in the US. There was no reference about in in any context.
- I guarantee there was no discussion about making conscriptions, it is not the case
About the meeting with the head of the CIA:
- The CIA Director was in my office. All the things he discussed with us happened and Romania proved to be a serious country
- He told me he was satisfied of the collaboration with us
On the corruption scandal Udrea is involved in:
It was expected that justice be served for some of the things that have happened in the last 10 years
- It would be a trap to argue that the evil was done by Mrs. Udrea or Mr. Băsescu
- I wish this to go all the way and all those guilty should be held accountable
