Romanian athlete Roxana Bârcă, gold medalist in Kazan, tested positive for doping

Romanian athlete Roxana Barca tested positive for doping control at the Universiade in Kazan (Russia), where she won the gold medal in the sample of 5,000 meters, according to Prosport.

Secretary General of the Romanian Olympic Committee, Ioan Dobrescu, said in a telephone intervention on Antena 3, that the athlete’s medal will be withdrawn, he insisted that it was the responsibility of the delegation who went to Kazan to do the doping control.

"It's a total lack of professionalism. A shame that Romania did not deserve," said Dobrescu

Roxana Bârcă is 26 years, and is legitimized to Steaua Sports Club.
