French Ambassador to Romania Philippe Gustin awarded the Order of Arts and Letters to artistic manager of the National Museum of Contemporary Art Ruxandra Balaci, during a ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the French diplomatic mission.
During the same event, state advisor Damian Draghici, pianist Ilinca Dumitrescu, director of Odeon Theatre Dorina Lazar, actress Maia Morgenstern, professors Mircea Angelescu and Andrei Pippidi were decorated with the Order of Arts and Letters in rank of Knight.
At the event opening, the French ambassador revealed that the ceremony is an important moment devoted to those personalities involved in the French-Romanian relations.
"The job of ambassador is beautiful, but it is even more so when one awards decorations to some friends of France who stood up by getting involved in the relations between our countries," he said.
