MEPs Victor Negrescu and Adina Valean won Wednesday evening, the prize "MEP of the Year" in the categories Energy and Digital Agenda in the "MEP Awards 2015," according to Mediafax.
The organizers announced Wednesday evening in Brussels the winners of the MEPs awards granted for the work performed in 2014 in 17 areas.
The awarded MEPs counted also Adina Valean (PNL) and Victor Negrescu (PSD). Thus, Vălean won the "MEP of the year" award in the Energy category and Victor Negrescu in the Digital Agenda category.
Four Romanian MEPs, three Social Democrats and a Liberal were on the short list , for the "MEP Awards 2015", a competition awarding the MEPs with the most intense activity in the previous year.
The short list of this year awards included the Romanian MEPs Daciana Sârbu (PSD) – for Health, Viorica Dăncilă (PSD) - Agriculture, Victor Negrescu (PSD) – Digital Agendaand Adina Vălean (PNL) - Energy.
The rules of the competition involve the selection and inclusion on the short list of the MEPs with the best activity in various fields, and then the nominees are voted by the remaining MEPs.
This year, Romania is among the countries with the biggest number of nominees in the "MEP Awards".
