“I  did not know about them. And here Mr. Antonescu was right in saying that it had never been discussed. It is a rather old initiative in the Parliament, but I want to straighten out a few things. (...) It is not true that a kind of super-imunity  is being created and  lawmakers are no longer held accountable  by  the DNA or ANI. They still are and they are accountable as they should be, to be held accountable by DNA and ANI. They have changed one thing which may seem technical in the sense that the elected are not civil servants, the lawmakers, the lawmakers do not have an employment contract, they do not have salaries. And, indeed, it needs to be discussed and I’ve asked for this project to be discussed with absolutely all those who enforce the law to see whether there is any confusion”, the Prime Minister stated when asked if he knew about the amendments  made to the Penal Code which entailed also a “deficiency in political strategy ”.

“Such a propaganda has been launched that I, in the end, I have surely asked both the  ambassador who expressed himself and the one who commented: Dear Sir, have you red the text? No, I have not red it. Then how do you know?, Well I have red it in the press. What press? They would always point out to the press source surrounding president Băsescu”, the PM stated for AGERPRES.
