Traian Băsescu made a short statement before the oath taking of the new cabinet.
"Let me read to you a paragraph from a CCR decision, to eliminate any doubts related to today’s event: <The CCR decision no. 98 of February 7, 2008, stating that: The text of the Constitution reads that in the cases referred to in paragraphs 1 and 3 of Article 85, the appointment is an act of enforcement of a Parliament’s decision and appointment of ministers.> This is the reason that I receive today the oath of Mr. Pop and the Minister of Education , Cîmpeanu who contributed, by destroying the institutions of education, to a false for public interest. "
At the end of the swearing in of the new cabinet members, President Traian Basescu did not make any statements and concluded with a wish: "I wish you success! Bye!"
