The President came before the press at six o’clock and warned that the Government and the Parliament that they must drop the fuel excise increase if they wanted him to greenlight the budget.
Traian Basescu said he found the money needed to replace in the state budget the over 2 billion that would be collected from the fuel excise increase on petrol. The bulk of the money would come from the Ministry led By Liviu Dragnea. And the rest would come from the Government’s reserve fund, unspent money left over from the ministries, that few know about, the president argued.
Right after the President’s speech, the PM’s spokes person, Mirel Palada posted on a social network and characterized Traian Băsescu as "scared, incoherent and intoxicated".
“ It is a shame but somebody has to acknowledge that the king is empty. Sorry, the president is drunk. Not only for power. (...). the President of Romania gets so entangled in speaking that the conclusion is sure: he is scared. And to defeat his fear, and trying to cover the nose he got intoxicated”.

The Premier spokesman says that on the budget, the President did not even awaited the Parliament conclusion to arrive and he already knows he will set barriers all the way.
