Romanian could become the official language in the Republic of Moldova
Romanian could become  the official language in the Republic of Moldova. The Liberal Party in  the Republic of Moldova submitted a draft bill whereby  it  proposes to change the official language from Moldavian  to Romanian, and the initiative caused quite a stir on  our neighbors political scene.

The politicians in Kishinev  have launched a series of  heated debate on the topic.

The Russian Minister for  Foreign Affairs stated his concern  towards the Liberals proposal.

Moscow warns  that the initiative could have a destructive effect  on the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the separatist group in Transnistria.
