Crin Antonescu stated that he had no discussion, face to face or on the phone, with Ioan Rus. But interim president specified that there were reasons for him to resign, reasons regarding administrative matters falling under the care of the Internal Affairs Ministry at the referndum.
„We did not discuss, not on the phone, nor in any other way, I did not make any public statement regarding him, thus I have no explanation for him making such an affirmation“, Anonescu stated on Antena 3.
„Altogether, I think there were reasons for Rus to resign, reasons that have to do with the referendum administration that fell under the care of the ministry led by him. I hadn't the slighest private discussion, nor official, with him“, Antonescu stated.
„I perfectly agree with mister Rus' resignation. I have questioned his animadverts about me because I wasn't among those who had made public comments about mister Rus. This is about the capacity of the PM and the Governing coalition to make these replacements. From my point of view, the Ministry can have replacements starting even today so that things can come back to normal“, said Antonescu.
