Dan Sova, an SDP senator, announced during a a press conference that he would file a penal complaint against Monica Macovei for braking the referendum law. Sova accused Macovei that she had instigated, by means of her statements, citizens to stay home instead of voting, according to Mediafax press agency.
„There is no democracy in staying at home, democracy is made by voting, we can not agree to the fact that a citizen who refuses to vote could determine the value of a citizen's vote wishes to be active“, added Sova. He further said that the referendum would be decided at ballot boxes and not by staying indoors.
Sova also mentioned that the massive presence of population at today's poll would reveal the fact that Romanians have a very good understanding of the this dirty strategy, not only against Romania, but against democracy and the rule of law too.
