Former head of National Agency for Fiscal Administration (NAFA) Sorin Blejnar and his former advisor Codrut Marta are prosecuted by DIICOT Brasov, in a case where the two are accused of complicity in tax evasion and supporting a criminal organization.
According DIICOT, former head of NAFA, Sorin Blejnar, demanded 3 million euros to support a criminal group.
Sorin Blejnar was called at the Direction for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Brasov, Wednesday afternoon, for a hearing with the case prosecutors, according to Mediafax press agency.
Codrut Alexandru Marta and Sorin Blejnar are accused in this case of supporting a criminal organization and complicity in tax evasion.
It is believed that the members of the group supported by Blejnar and Martha had initiated a complex fraud mechanism to skip taxes for about 5,000 tons of diesel purchased under suspension and sold on the internal market.
This way, the state budget is thought to have suffered a prejudice of over 10.5 million lei and more than 10.8 million representing fuel, the total ammount of the prejudice established until now adding up to over 21.3 million lei.
