UPDATE. The son of Bercea Mondial stated a while ago that Traian Băsescu organized the DNA flagrant.
"Mircea Băsescu told us that not him, but Traian organized the DNA flagrant", he stated before the court.
According to Antena 3 reporter, Cătălina Smereca, Florin Anghel said he took the money to Mircea Băsescu:
"Mircea contacted his brother, Traian Băsescu, who allegedly told him he would be released after the first appeal. They gave then 350.000 euros in 500 euros banknotes. Bercea was released but after the first appeal he was imprisoned again. At that moment, Mircea Băsescu called his brother again before Florin and allegedly told him "I am with my godson, what do we do?". Florin and his mother met Mircea in the harbor and Florin Anghel had allegedly said that Mircea Băsescu should have given them 350.000 euros for the release, because "many people have to eat". When he saw that he was not released, Florin Anghel asked lMircea Băsescu to give them their money back. Mircea Băsescu gave back 280.000 euros, claiming they were 300.000. When they realized it was not the whole sum, they threatened to go public with the case."
The big confrontation between the brother of president Traian Băsescu and Bercea Mondial started Friday in a courtroom in Constanţa.
According to the Antena 3 reporter, Cătălina Smereca, Bercea told the magistrates that Mircea Băsescu intervened in 2010 to have his son released, Florin Anghel, in exchange of 20 thousand euros. Bercea pointed out that Mircea Băsescu called judge Cristian Deliorga, back then a prosecutor, to solve the problem.
Bercea stated that he will file a denunciation on the name of the magistrate Cristian Deliorga.
Also, Bercea had allegedly told the magistrates that the bribe for the brother of Traian Băsescu was hidden under his wife’s skirt.
The brother of the former president is accused that with the help of Marian Căpăţână, he had allegedly received 250.000 euros to intervene with the judges to order a favourable sentence in the Bercea Mondial trial.
