Mihai Gadea aired during the Sunday's edition of the "Daily summary" show an excerpt from an interview given by President Klaus Iohannis to the ARD German television station.
Asked to comment on the allegations that he was close to the people from the Austrian company Holzindustrie Schweighofer, Klaus Iohannis said he did not know them.
"I do not know these people at all. And I do not believe that a law is drafted or should be drafted for a company or a group of companies. In this sense, it is absolutely stupid the idea that I would lobby for an Austrian company. This idea came up on the political scene because I am of German origin, therefore somehow Austrian too. It has nothing to do with reality", Klaus Iohannis stated.
Immediately after the interview was broadcast, Basescu made a nervous breakdown at B1, where he criticized President Iohannis’es choice to speak German for the German press.
"It is inadmissible that the Romanian president should speak in Germany, via the German press, rather than speaking through the Romanian press," Basescu said.
"It's a shock, Basescu has been stricken by nationalism," said Mugur Ciuvică amused at Antena 3.
