Laura Codruţa Kovesi is accused of lying and of displaying a Nazi type attitude in the Telepathy case file by former Minister of Communications. Sorin Pantiş sentenced to seven years in prison in that case, sent a letter to the DNA chief prosecutor demonstrating that the sentence is a serious mistrial.
In a letter sent to the DNA Chief Prosecutor, Sorin Pantiş accuses Laura Codruţa Kovesi that she intentionally hides the lying, forgery and incompetence. The former Minister referred to the fact that the DNA employee who performed the expertise in the ICA case file was not an expert in assessing the market value of companies.
"The evaluation of a company requires an expert accountant, an expert in the study of specific markets, a financial expert and a lawyer. Such an evaluation is a tough process and cannot be forced to completion in 5 days (...) It is shameful how easily you lie to cover a huge mistrial, whereby 12 innocent people were convicted. You are already trying to accredit the idea that the executioners are guilty of this rude setup whereby a correct privatization is being transformed into a political case file with economic assassinations connotations, " Sorin Pantiş says according to stiripesurse.ro.
Pantiş also accuses Laura Codruţa Kovesi that she lied when she said that all evidence presented had been examined. The former minister remembered how the application calling for a new expertise was rejected after the one drafted in 2008 by the DNA employee Aurelia Nicolae had been contested.
"The corollary of your evil mind is the statement that" in such a file, when you get a conviction, the judicial system is successful. "This is the most dangerous and perverse claim. (...) You have created again after 67 years, the category of "political prisoners", in violation of the law and the decisions of the Constitutional Court. Do not involve the whole justice system. It is unfair! !!! It seems a Nazi type manifestation, dictatorship, " Pantiş writes.
At the end of the letter to Kovesi, Pantiş added that the DNA chief lied again when she said she feared the case file could be prescribed and that’s why they rushed it. Actually, the facts would be prescribed only after 5 years, therefore the rush could not be justified, the former minister wrote.
