Calin Popescu Tariceanu, president of Senate, accused of taking a 800,000 dollars bribe
President of the Senate, Calin Popescu Tariceanu is accused of recieving nearly 800,000 dollars from the representatives of an Austrian company to finalize several acts in a commercial contract, with the money being used for the electoral campaign, announced the National Anticorruption Directorate.
This is a response coming from DNA, after Antena 3 revealed exclusively that those from the National Anticorruption Directorate requested an opinion for starting a criminal prosecution on behalf of Călin Popescu Tăriceanu.
The case against the president was built in 2018.
