The criminal investigation in this file was drafted following a complaint submitted by one of Cristian Boureanu’s opponents who claimed that the PDL deputy and his party colleague, Dan Marian have breached the parliamentary elections legislation.
Therefore, the USL candidate for the Deputies Chamber in constituency 6 Vaslui, Toader Dima showed in his complaint that the two MPs had offered meatballs to the audience attending the football game. The food and drink were distributed to the people by the campaign representatives of the PDL deputies, who allegedly dressed as waiters and walked among the audience.
Deputy Dan Marian the ARD candidate for the Senate in constituency 3 Vaslui which also comprises the Huşi area, said he attended the game, but did not offer drinks or food to the public as electoral bribery.
In his turn, deputy Christian Boureanu affirmed that he was not in Huşi during that day, and the allegations were ungrounded. `I did not arrive in Huşi that day, so there is no way I could attend a football game. From what I have heard too, the players remained there after the game, among themselves’, Cristian Boureanu said.
The PDL deputy added that he would submit a criminal complaint against his opponent to the Chamber of Deputies, Toader Dima, for slanderous denunciation.
