Ioan Oltean, who runs for his sixth deputy term in constituency no. 3 of the Bistriţa-Năsăud county, states that he does not want to brag with a certain legislative initiative, because 99% of the laws passed through Parliament are initiated by the Government, not by the deputies and senators.
‘I do not have at this time a specific initiative, I do not mean to come and brag about it. That’s why, my main concern is to get us into government. I want to state the following: the main initiator is the Government, it is the one who initiates, who forwards drafts and has legislative initiative. The MPs have this right, but I am not going to enumerate that now. The one who initiates, who sends the laws to the Parliament to be adopted is the Government. The Parliament adopts them, but the Government sends it, the Governments forwards 99% of the drafts. Everything that is being passed through Parliament are 99% the Government’s initiatives, the rest belongs to the MPs, with annexes, they , each of them come with all kind of mischiefs and things’, Oltean stated according to Agerpress.
The PDL county leader considers that more important than the legislative initiatives is that the Parliament be attending the plenum debate of the laws.
‘I cannot come now and give you a certain legislative initiative, pretending to be in business. I could give you tens of examples, but I do not believe it to be the most important thing ’, Oltean feels.
Ioan Oltean is running in the same constituency he won in 2008, being the only MP in the Bistriţa-Năsăud county to win a term by more than 50% plus one of the votes. The constituency no. 3 comprises the towns of Năsăud and Sângeorz-Băi and the villages on the Sălăuţei, Ilvelor and Someşului Valleys.
