On Constitution’s day, Klaus Iohannis is asking for its revision: There are also texts that have allowed a forced interpretation thereof

The Constitution "has already passed the test of time ",  but it still contains  "amendments that have proved to be unfortunate,  just as there are texts that have allowed  forced interpretations, beyond the  fundamental spiritual act ", a message by president elect  Klaus Iohannis states on the Day of The Constitution, Mediafax reports.

"That is why the process of revising the Constitution, of upgrading  and of explaining  should be completed over  the next period, and the amendments  will serve to make it stronger, to build a more efficient state, strengthening the rule of law and freedoms of  citizens, " the President-elect added.

The respect for the Constitution  “concerns not only the text of the fundamental law and compliance to it in all actions and decisions", Iohannis noted in his message, who believes that "the spirit of the Constitution" should be a permanent landmark, contained "in  principles such as separation of powers, rule of law, respect for citizens' rights. "
