Romania must have several priorities and directions for economic development in 2016, writes Dan Voiculescu on his blog. The professor has published a series of 10 challenges this year, resulting in the creation of a serious economic strategy beyond all the political repercussions and electoral stakes.
Professor Dan Voiculescu advises the government to keep the country going in the way it is going now but to come up with new ideas for improving the economic situation. For example, to be more open internationally.

"Apart from the foreign extremely important Euro-Atlantic relations, which should be further strengthened, it is appropriate to develop joint projects with other strong economies such as India, Brazil, China and Argentina, as well as with emerging economies from Africa and Asia, where the Romanian products and the Romanian specialists enjoy a good reputation, " Dan Voiculescu wrote on his blog.
This year comes with challenges, Professor Dan Voiculescu writes. We are talking about increasing foreign trade, the need for more jobs in services area, population growth and expansion of the middle class.
"Stimulating private initiative - through effective measures to encourage small and medium enterprises, liberal professions, private initiative among young people. Now the priority is for the natural persons –PFAs- those that had suffered most from the entry into force of the new Tax Code from January 1, 2016, "he wrote.

The pensions and social systems should also be a priority in the view of Professor Dan Voiculescu. And for that bold action is needed.

"It is necessary to determine effective solutions for a mix between state pensions, private pensions and special pensions (...) the rethinking of social benefits aiming to reduce the extreme poverty phenomenon. Now, there is the ability to provide, without affecting the public budget balance, a solidarity fund for the vulnerable, " Dan Voiculescu writes.

Finally, government members should focus this year on measures to bring back into the country the Romanians working abroad.
