Floating toxic bomb. After three countries refused to accept in their ports the wrecked German ship carrying dangerous cargo, she is heading to Romania

A wrecked German ship, carrying hazardous chemicals is on its way to Romania. Three countries have refused to dock it in their ports for repairs, for fear of the dangerous substances carried in the 150 containers. The ship will arrive in Mangalia shipyard where the company which built it took on the responsibility to fix it too. 

The Ship has not been received in the ports of France, Britain and the Netherlands on account of its hazardous cargo; although there aren’t any specific information about the transport.

Flaminia ship carrier under German flag, was called " the toxic floating bomb 'after some of the 150 containers caught fire in July 2012, in mid-Atlantic. Two crew members died and 25 others have abandoned ship. The Germans decided to bring the cargo into a port to analyze the load.


The wrecked ship laden with toxic waste left for Romania, under the escort of two barges at the end of last week. It should be repaired in Mangalia by the company that built it in 2001.
