Ioana Petrescu (33), the first woman Minister of Finance in Romania, explained on the Daily Summary the priorities she set as the finances keeper.
The minister said she wanted the tax collection system to be more efficient and to implement measures for voluntary compliance.
In this respect, Ioana Petrescu said she wanted to conduct a survey focused on the taxpayer views on tax collection.
Moreover, the Finance Minister said that she supported capping cash payments, a measure that allows transactions to be more transparent and favors the reduction of tax evasion.
Finance Minister Ioana Petrescu, is the holder of a PhD and an MA in Economics from Harvard University.
