Iohannis's NewYear message: Dear Romanians, do not lose trust in Romania, together we'll make it!
In his New Year message, president Klaus Iohannis tells Romanians to not lose trust in Romania, because "together, we will make it!"
"Dear Romanians, ten years ago our country became officially a Member State of the European Union — an objective that would have not been possible without the effort of each and every one here. A decade ago, parents have already started to build a better world for their children. Romania's European option has had a strong public support because the people have firstly joined a set of values and principles: a consolidated democracy, the rule of law, a dignified life, in peace and prosperity. Because of that, the descendants of those who have built a European Romania have the duty to keep and strengthen for the next generations, the heritage they've received," says president Iohannis in a video message posted on Saturday on his Facebook page.
He stresses that the head-ways achieved so far must not loosen up, they must be continued with resoluteness and responsibility, Agerpres reports.
"Dear Romanians, whether you are in the country or abroad, do not lose trust in Romania! We still have a lot to do, but I'm hoping that together, we'll make it! Happy New Year everybody!" says the head of state.
