The city of Sibiu has issued it's own currency, the Sibcoin which will be presented on November 29 in Bucharest. The currency will be used in 2019, when the county will become a Gastroeconomic European Region.
Sibiu will become the first region from Romania that will use a local currency. According to www.sibiugastronomia.ro this will not replace the national currency and it will join the other 300 local currencies from all over the world.
