Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister: Romania closed its airspace to my aircraft passage at the request of the USA
At the request of the United States, Romania closed its airspace to my airplane. Ukraine does not allow me to pass", Russian Deputy Prime Minister said in a message posted Saturday on Twitter from Transnistria, Itar-Tass reports.

Rogozin was attempting to go back to Transnistria, where he attended Friday a ceremony to celebrate the Victory ‘s Day in Moscow.

"Next time I will fly aboard a (strategic bomber type) Tu-160," Rogozin said, stressing that sanctions will not make him cancel his visits to Tiraspol, the capital of the Moldovan breakaway region of Transnistria

Also, on his last Facebook posting, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister says that Romania has shut airspace access on account of the sanctions imposed by the European Union, " Itar-Tass reads.

The Deputy Prime Minister faced transportation challenges Thursday too when coming to the Moldovan separatist region where he witnessed the parade held on May 9, the Victory Day over Nazi. He announced, also on Twitter, that his plane, which was headed to Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, was not allowed to cross the airspace of Ukraine and had to go around through Bulgaria and Romania.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry denied on Thursday night that he would have banned the transit of Ukraine airspace to aircraft having Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin on board, saying that there have been no obstacles Russian aircraft in transit, Interfax news agency reports.

"It seems that we go to Chisinau via Bulgaria and Romania, the flight will last 4-5 hours. Ukraine has not allowed passage through its airspace," Rogozin wrote Thursday in a message posted on Twitter. "Well it is a good thing that Ukraine is not (as big as ) Russia, otherwise the bypassing would take about 20 hours," he added.

After Rogozin’s plane landed, the pilot was asked by the air traffic controllers of Bulgaria and Romania whether the plane carried "a passenger (subject) of a ban."

"They have intended to send aircrafts for interception," Rogozin wrote.
