“It’s about one billion and a half, part of our contribution to the club’s budget. And I am going to tell you another thing, even if the Town Hall’s budget has not been approved yet, we have increased the amount allotted to the Oltchim women handball team. It’s the time when we must pay the players’ salaries. They have to be at peace, to focus on their training and we hope that the start up in the main groups of the Champions League be a happy one”, Frâncu stated.
CS Oltchim chairman, Petre Berbecaru, said the spirits in the team are calm and that the overdue salaries would be paid until the end of this month:
“The team is calm, the girls are getting ready for the match against FTC in the start-up of the main groups. It is true we are one month behind paying salaries but the girls will be paid by the end of January, there are no issues with that, the girls have understood perfectly and there’s no tension. I wish very much to avoid any likely media gossip so that the calmness I was referring to be preserved ”.
Berbecaru also stated that the amount allotted from the Town Hall was not enough to pay overdue salaries: " We are talking about 33.000 Euros, how many handball players you think we can pay with this money? The support is welcomed, we appreciate it very much and again, the girls will play the first match in the main groups with their salaries paid to date, we have the resources necessary”, the club’s chairman added.
