Larisa Iordache is the only gymnast who won two gold medals at the European Championships in 2014, one gold medal with the team and one for her evolution on the floor, being close to getting the first place on beam, she was a favorite in the beam finale, but managed to win the silver medal instead.
Romania’s balance in the European Championships in Sofia is the following :
Seniors – gold for the team and the floor apparatus (Larisa Iordache), silver for beam (Larisa Iordache), silver in the vaults competition (Larisa Iordache)
juniors – silver for individual competition and vault (Laura Jurcă), silver for beam and floor (Andreea Iridon), bronze medal for the team.
At the 2012 European Championship, Romania's senior team won the gold medal, the 2014 is the seventh team record for our team.
Overall, Romanian won six medals in the 2012 edition, gold for the team made up of Sandra Izbasa (vaults), Catalina Ponor (beam), Larisa Iordache (floor) and silver by Larisa Iordache (beam) and Catalina Ponor (floor).
In the juniors competition, Romania won the bronze team plus another five individual medals: silver - Ştefania Ştănilă (vaults), Andreea Munteanu (beam) and Silvia Zarzu (floor) and bronze - Andreea Munteanu (floor).
In 2013 the Individual European Championship was held, without the team competition event, where Romania won six medals in the women's participation, as follows: Larisa Iordache - gold on beam, silver in the individual all-around, vault and floor, Diana Bulimar - silver on beam and bronze on floor
