Halep, who played her tenth WTA final and her seventh success started the game with a break and did not give in any service.
For her success, the first in a Premier 5 category competition, Simona Halep got 441.000 dollars and 900 WTA points.
Last year Halep won six tournaments, in Nuremberg, in Hertogenbosch, Budapest, New Haven, Moscow and Sofia, before losing the finals in Brussels (2012) and Fes (2010, 2011). Simona had won the only match previous played against Kerber (26 years, 9 WTA) in 2009, in the ITF open at St. Raphael, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.
