The mission is said to be part of the responsibilities incumbent on Romania as a NATO member state.
The mission usually lasts some six months, and the gendarmes will be deployed with two NTM-A regional commands and four training centers of the Afghan Police - Spin Boldak, Wardak, Costall and Kandahar.
In Afghanistan, the Romanian gendarmes will be carrying out three types of activities: direct train gin of Afghan police officers, mentoring for Afghan trainers and mentoring for the Afghan officers of the training commands.
